What's Up Cranberry

A weekly look at what's happening around Cranberry Township — the news, the noise, and one local's take on both.

Week of October 5 – 11, 2026

What's up, Cranberry — six local vape and hemp shops were searched in a countywide THC investigation, a new furniture store has an opening date, Halloween hours are set, and the Seneca Valley board teed up two agreements. Four things below.

Six Cranberry shops searched in countywide THC investigation

On October 7, county officials, the District Attorney's office and local police — including Cranberry Township police — executed 31 search warrants over suspected illegal THC product sales. Six of the 12 retail stores searched are in Cranberry: Cranberry Tobacco Vape, Cranberry Clouds, Cool Vapes, The Hemp Company and Glass Gallery on Route 19, plus East Coast Vapes on Freedom Road. A state police lab found Delta-9 THC levels up to 38 times the legal limit in some products. No charges had been filed yet, but the DA expects charges against multiple people.

The takeMost of these are on the same stretch of Route 19. Worth watching for the charges, and for whether any of these storefronts change hands afterward.

Seneca Valley board advances two agreements to October 12 vote

At its October 5 work session, the Seneca Valley school board voted 7-0 to move two agreements to its October 12 voting meeting: one with Greentrail Solutions for USDA-required software that tracks food purchased from outside the U.S., and one with the School at McGuire Memorial for extended-school-year special education services in 2026-27.

The takeRoutine items, but the food-tracking one is a new federal requirement that will likely show up in other districts' agendas too.
